The level of activity of the BCC Chiropractic Interns has been very good for the month of November this year where we have seen a very slight increase (of 1%) in patient visits compared to the same month last year. This increase, which results in large part from an influx of new patients, is commendable given the governmental restrictions we have had to endure. As a result, we offer our congratulations to all the interns and supervisors for this great start of the academic year at the BCC Chiropractic Centre.

As you may know, much of the 2020 year (March-October) has seen the BCC Chiropractic Centre restricted by regulations in its level of activity such that we were closed (March and April) or operating at 30-70% reduction (see below for details*) while overheads have actually increased due to COVID-related hygiene and PPE requirements.

* Midway through May 2020 we were able to reopen the consulta but only at a maximum of 30% of normal capacity. As of July 2020, activity increased to approximately 50% of capacity. Since November 2020 the capacity is greater than 75%. As a result of these restricted levels of activity the year to date (YTD) sees patient visits and income down by approximately 40% compared to the same YTD during the previous year (2019).

In order to cope with these issues and in keeping with prior policies regarding patient fees, we have made a comprehensive review of fees and, for the first time in 3 years, they will undergo some changes (patients, interns and staff have already been notified), which will come into effect from January 2021.
