Hey everyone! My name is Marleena Laakso and I\u2019m a 2021 Barcelona College of Chiropractic graduate. I moved to Barcelona from Finland in 2016 to begin my journey in
\nbecoming a chiropractor. Believe it or not, I had never received an adjustment before I started in BCC! I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do when I finished highschool, but I<\/strong><\/span>
\nknew I wanted to learn more about the human body and to be able to help people<\/strong><\/span> – there couldn’t have been a better path to choose than chiropractic!<\/strong><\/span> The first year away from home was tough and I felt quite lost – new environment, strange languages, lots of new information. But soon enough I realized I was a part of a tribe and I didn\u2019t feel so lost <\/strong><\/span>anymore<\/strong>. During those 5 years in BCC I made friends that I know will be in my life forever.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All the studying and hard work is much easier when you work as a team – and more fun! Organize study groups, practice technique and surround yourself with like minded people to <\/strong><\/span>help each other grow and evolve!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The years fly by faster than you\u2019d expect\u2026 After graduating I joined the BCC chiropractic center team as a <\/strong><\/span>supervisor, which was an amazing experience to have as a new grad!<\/strong><\/span> I got to deepen my clinical knowledge and help the next graduating chiropractors to feel ready going into the world with confidence in their skills. I stayed on the team until May this year, when I accepted a position to work as a chiropractor in the UK. I am now officially a GCC registered <\/span><\/strong>chiropractor here in the UK<\/strong><\/span>, working with an amazing team at Chiropractic Life in Brighton. Getting registered with the GCC (General Chiropractic Council) was definitely a challenge, all the studying I did during my years in BCC helped me through it!<\/p>\n

If you are thinking about working in the UK, I am happy to share my experience so far in more detail. The BCC has an amazing network of students, lecturers and chiropractors that are <\/strong><\/span>always ready to answer questions and help out – don\u2019t hesitate to reach out!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

My advice to all of you<\/strong><\/span> on your journey in becoming a chiropractor, whether you\u2019ve just started out or you\u2019re nearing the end of your studies:<\/p>\n

Trust your gut, find your tribe and enjoy the ride!<\/span><\/h3>\n
